At Purpose Driven Tutoring, we meet students where they are and help them grow into stronger, more confident readers. Our personalized, one-on-one reading support builds foundational skills, strengthens comprehension, and helps students discover that reading can be enjoyable. We provide evidence-based literacy instruction for K–12 students through five-week tutoring cohorts offered on partnering school campuses. Individual tutoring is also available for families seeking personalized reading support in a welcoming community setting. Our program focuses on phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and reading confidence.
By third grade, students begin shifting from learning to read to reading to learn. When a student is not yet reading proficiently at this stage, everyday schoolwork can become more difficult—from understanding math word problems and science lessons to completing written assignments and participating confidently in class.
Early personalized instruction gives students the opportunity to build the foundational skills they need before gaps become harder to close. We are committed to addressing literacy gaps by meeting all learners where they are, honoring their strengths, and providing focused reading instruction.
See how the program worksEach cohort combines the Tattum Reading curriculum with structured, one-on-one tutoring tailored to each student's learning needs. Students complete assessments at the beginning and end of every five-week cohort, while daily progress-tracking tools are used so growth is visible from week one.
Four elements work together in every cohort we run.
Dedicated tutoring instead of a 1:30 classroom ratio — undivided, expert attention for every student.
Evidence-based instruction covering phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Removing physiological and emotional barriers to learning with healthy snack options, free books, and program essentials.
Five-week cycles with daily tracking tools, pre/post assessments, and built-in pressure release techniques.
